Shopping for a Christening set?

Tuesday, July 24, 2007

As I have been blabbering about in the past days, my son is going to be baptized a couple of weeks from now and I am glad we are all set when it comes to the christening set that he's going to wear that day. I was thinking of getting one online if not going to shop at a baby store. We went to Babies'R'Us hoping we could find what we wanted. Indeed we found it at the clothing aisle of the store. I checked about baptismal gown/suit before and already have compared prices from several stores online. I found that going to the store itself was worth it - in my opinion by the way if you wanted to make sure you get what you really wanted. We got the christening set which sizes are all 3-9 months and 16lbs. limit only. My son is already is going to be 7 mos. old next week and he's a little over 17 lbs already. The christening set still fits though which is good - at least he's only going to wear it once for a few minutes. There's no reason to get the expensive kind or the fancier style for one time occasion. Well, if you think of passing it on to your future sons, relatives or friend's babies, it is still worth it to get a not so shabby yet decent looking set. If you're thinking about getting it from the said store, buying it online might not be the good choice if you only have a budget of less than $50. I just found out that the website only has this cheapest one on the photo. It's not cheap at all for less than an hour of use, right? I suggest going to the store near you is best. They only have it for $30.  Don't be fooled but that one on the photo is $89.99 online.

Summer favorites

Tuesday, July 17, 2007

The heat of the sun is scorching and you feel the breeze of the beach calling. What do you need for this season? A good pair of swim wear that's for sure. My top pick for a perfect beach wear would be from Victoria's Secret. Not only that they have the sexiest models (LOL)—their items are definitely nice and colorful - not to mention the pocket-friendly prices. Besides, they always have a sale and specials. You don't need to buy what's the latest. If you're tight with money, it's always practical to get something you can afford, you know. Anyway, here's a few of my personal favorites.

Madras sliding triangle top Orig. $29 Sale $21
Madras string bottom Orig. $20 Sale $15

Banded halter top Orig. $32 Sale $24
Matching bottoms Orig. $24 Sale $18

Boho print banded halter top Orig. $32 Sale $24
Matching bottoms Orig. $24 Sale $18

Dressing up

Thursday, July 12, 2007

My son is going to be baptized next month and I am searching for a dress to wear. I am not into dresses nor that I feel comfortable wearing one. I'm just not used to it. I'd rather wear pants, jeans and blouses or shirts. It's supposed to be a casual event if not formal. Its an afternoon affair and I am certain that I will settle for something that looks presentable as wearing a dress is not necessary but I just think it's appropriate.  As a stay at home mom and who doesn't have a driver's license just yet, I am looking into Internet shopping as my last resort. I can't always depend on my husband to take me to the store as he is all the time busy. Anyway, I have some options which I am going to present here. If you feel that you have something to say about it, please feel free to comment. This will somehow help me choose too.
